About this Apprenticeship

Join the elite and train at Artisan & Co Academy. This is a prestige Academy located in the centre of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.  Become a qualified Hairdresser by completing the Level 2 Hair professional apprenticeship. You will learn and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful hairdresser. An apprenticeship consists of a minimum of 30 hours paid work every week, which includes a training day. Your paid employment / work placement, at a hairdressing salon should be for a minimum of 30 hours each week (24 hours working in salon + a full 6 hour training day at Artisan & Co Academy).  Your job provides you with real shop-floor experience to development your skills and gain experience, and your Academy training day is where you learn Hairdressing knowledge and skills, and where you will be working on real live paying models. This apprenticeship takes an average of 24 months to complete, but is possible to complete sooner depending on the learner. Your teacher will assess your knowledge and skills throughout your programme to prepare you for an End Point Assessment with an external assessor.

Government Funded Qualification

There is no charge to learners!

Note to employers: If your apprentice is under 19 and you are a small employer with under 50 employees, the government will fund 100% of the training costs.

For any Non-Levy Employers: If you do not pay the apprenticeship levy, the government will fund 95% of the apprenticeship and you will be required to pay 5% of the total costs of the apprenticeship directly to us as the training provider.

Entry Requirements

You must be 16 years or older. There are no entry requirements to start this course. However, if you have not achieved your Maths and English GCSE to a grade 4 or above or a level 2 functional skills qualification you will be required to work towards a functional skills qualification at the level you are currently working at. Any learner with Maths and English GCSE to a grade 4 or above or a level 2 functional skills qualification, aren’t required to achieve a qualification but will need to continue to develop their maths and English skills. You must secure a work placement within a hairdressing salon to enable you to complete this apprenticeship.

Roll on-roll off enrolment
